Kathy Minella

Attorney

Kathy Minella handles cases in a variety of legal areas, and has particular expertise in family law and domestic violence. In addition to her work as an attorney at San Diego Law Firm, she is an adjunct law professor at Kaplan University in the School of Criminal Justice. At Kaplan, she teaches future law enforcement officers about domestic violence laws, the warning signs of domestic violence, and ways to assist domestic violence victims.

Kathy attended California Western School of Law, where she interned at the Madge Bradley Domestic Violence clinic and discovered her passion for family law and helping victims. While in law school, Kathy also volunteered to participate in the Street Law program by teaching underprivileged youth about the law and by helping them compete in mock trial competitions. Before that, Kathy earned her BFA degree from Columbia College Chicago, where she studied multimedia design and eventually ran her own business producing wedding videos and designing DVD's.

When not at work, Kathy enjoys seeing the San Diego sights and enjoying the wonderful southern California weather. She likes spending her time with her two dogs, Coco and Charlie, hiking the various parks, exploring North Park and surrounding neighborhoods, cooking, and finding good Chicago pizza in San Diego. Kathy is a football lover supporting her home team, "Da Bears," as well as any team who beats the Packers. Of course, she will cheer for her new home team, the San Diego Chargers, as long as they aren't playing "Da Bears."
